3 Things You Should Get Rid Of In Your Closet

If these are in your closet, get rid of them immediately.

Purging your wardrobe can feel overwhelming, and sometimes you don’t even know where to start. However, it must be done! Having clothes in your closet that aren’t delivering value or versatility to your wardrobe are taking up space for something that could be. It’s also important to get rid of things in your closet that don’t look good or feel good when you wear them, because if they’re there you will.

Want my advice, start here. Get rid of…

clothes that don’t fit.

clothes you’ll never wear again.

clothes that shouldn’t be worn again.

Ok, ok. I know it’s all easier said than done. Let’s break it down.

Get rid of clothes that don’t fit.

The way clothes fit you is a matter of a few things. The cut, the size, and the fabric. If something isn’t the right cut for your body shape, pitch it. If something is too big or too small, it’s gotta go. If something clings and pull in all the wrong places, say bye bye!

Get rid of clothes that you’ll never wear again.

You know which ones I’m talking about. The ‘just in case’ you can fit into it again stuff. If you are hanging on to something because you might fit into it again, and you think you would want to wear it when you do, you most likely won’t. Anything that you can’t wear now shouldn’t be in your closet, and you’re only allowed to store it if you will actually want to wear it again if you can.

Get rid of clothes that you shouldn’t wear again.

Things in your closet that are stretched out, stained, fraying, pilling, ripped or torn. Anything in your closet that is damaged or over-worn is a no no. These items should be replaced asap and tossed when they are. Don’t keep anything as a back up! I’ve seen this too many times in a clients closet, and all it does is create chaos and disorder.
