How to pack well styled outfits for a vacation!

This is the time of the year when travel is on the mind and on the calendar! In the next 2 months I have 3 weekend getaways planned myself, with a few more family trips on the pipeline! Whenever I travel it’s important to me that I feel my most comfortable and confident. Wearing the wrong thing and not feeling your best self has the ability to sabotage any vacation! You’ve been there before… Your pants were too tight, your dress too short, your top too small, your suitcase overpacked, the wrong shoes with the wrong outfit, overdressed, underdressed, etc. If you don’t pack smart with a well styled look, you could feel so uncomfortable it becomes a major distraction to enjoying the blessing of travel!

I want you to avoid that awkwardness and not even notice or think about what you are wearing when on vacation. I want you to wake up everyday and feel joyful, ready to make memories and take pictures that show you at your best!

How do you that? Here are my top 5 tips on packing a well styled wardrobe for any trip!

Pack clothes that fit!

This comes up over and over and over again. If your clothes don’t fit they won’t be comfortable and they will ruin your whole day! It doesn’t matter where you are or what you are doing, your clothes need to fit. Check your ego at the door and forget about the size on the tag. If you are pulling at your too tight shirt all day, or constantly pulling up a pair of saggy pants you will be frustrated and not enjoy any part of your vacation.

Pack your best colors!

It’s great to pack an assortment of neutrals that are easy to mix and match with each other. But don’t look or feel drab on your trip. You can do better than packing all black and white! Make sure to add splashes of your best colors with some bold layers and fun patterns that can easily be worn with any neutral bottom.

Pack using your WEC!

The Wardrobe Essentials Checklist should be your ultimate grounding point. If you are feeling overwhelmed with options and feel like there are too many looks you can pack use this tool! Go back to the basic and reference what you have in your closet from the WEC and how the pieces can be dressed up or down, mixed and matched, and simplify your suitcase.

If you don’t have your own copy of the WEC you can download it here.

Pack clothes that are your style!

I know we all get excited when we have a trip coming up to glitzy Las Vegas, chic Europe, edgy New York, boho California, or trendy Asia. But slow down and don’t go buying all new clothes just so you can fit in! You will regret every penny you spend on clothes that aren’t your true style just so you can look like the natives. Not only that, you will feel so dang uncomfortable the whole time, and never wear any of those clothes again! It’s fun to buy something new for travel, just use good judgement and buy what is best for you.

Pack with help!

If you are lost, can’t figure out what to wear with what, or how to minimize your packing while maximizing your outfits take a breath and call for backup. Calling for reinforcements helps when you need someone with a more strategic mind that can tell you what looks good on you and what will be most comfortable for your travel. Two minds are better than one! A trusted friend is always great, but sometimes you want a professional. That’s me! I’ve helped women curate the perfect mini-wardrobe for trips to Italy, Ireland, Las Vegas, New York, and more. Some trips for work, some for pleasure, some for both! I can help you look and feel your best so you can experience the best of your time away!
