How To Spend Less Money and Have More To Wear

YOU DON’T NEED A LOT OF CLOTHES TO HAVE A LOT TO WEAR!

I will die on this hill. I will say this till I’m blue in the face. I believe this through and through. You do not need a lot clothes in order to have a lot to wear. What you need is the right variety of pieces that you can mix and match to create an endless of amount of looks.

When I am working with clients the number one desire I hear is that they want a streamlined closet. A closet full of clothes that are easy to mix and match so that it’s easy to get dressed. A closet full of clothes that make sense, where they didn't have to spend a ton of time and money accruing.

I’m with ya! I love that for myself, and I love that for my clients.

But what exactly does it look like to be able to mix and match well? What does it look like to get the most value and variety out of your wardrobe?

Color

Make sure to shop for clothing and accessories that are in your color palette. When you buy clothes that naturally compliment your complexion they will naturally compliment each other. When you are shopping in the right color palette you will feel good in the clothes you wear and you will find it easy to mix and match them together! Pattern + Print

Make sure to shop for patterns and prints that are within your style profile. Understanding your personal style profile helps you to shop for patterns and prints that are comfortable for you to wear, and don’t feel like a costume. When you shop within your personal style you build a wardrobe that compliments itself, making it easy to mix and match with each other. The Right Pieces

Make sure you are building your wardrobe with pieces that you will actually wear and that add value. So many times I work with clients who voice frustration that they don’t have anything to wear with such-and-such piece. Or that they struggle to build a complete outfit. Or that they are missing basic essentials to help them put together easy looks. There are some fundamental essentials you will want to have in your wardrobe so that you can actually mix and match your wardrobe and put together complete looks.
